What is Measured? The four important markers to check if you have thyroid issues
Free T4: Free T4 is the main thyroid hormone produced by your thyroid gland. These levels can fluctuate depending on whether you have an over or under active thyroid.
Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone: Thyroid Stimulating Hormone is the pituitary hormone that is responsible for stimulating the thyroid gland. TSH levels help determine if one has an under or over active thyroid.
TPO Antibodies: This test detects antibodies against thyroid peroxidase (TPO), an enzyme playing an important role in production of thyroid hormones. Presence of these antibodies suggest autoimmune thyroid diseases such as under-active or over-active thyroid gland.
Free T3: Free T3 is a hormone produced by your thyroid gland. These levels can fluctuate depending on whether you have an over or under-active thyroid.
