What is measured? This test measurs four key hormones
Cortisol: You can think of Cortisol as nature’s alarm system. Made in our adrenal glands, Cortisol regulates the release of glucose, which is our body’s main energy source. Cortisol also acts as our primary stress hormone.
DHEA: DHEA is involved in the creation of Testosterone and Estrogen. It activates receptors influencing how we metabolize and store fat. DHEA levels impact overall health by supporting healthy immune function, libido, and controlling inflammation.
Estradiol: Although Estradiol is the predominant form of estrogen, for men it is formed from DHEA and can have an impact on libido and fertility. As men age, their estradiol levels naturally increase.
HDL: HDL, high-density lipoprotein, is considered the “good cholesterol” because it absorbs cholesterol and carries it back to the liver and helps flush it from your body.
